My Story

My Story

My name is Vonna Contino Maslanka ~
I was born and raised as an only child in the state of Illinois, with my parents. I am married, and have 3 children.
My journey started in 2005 when I decided after thirty five years to walk away from my day job, and never look back.
"Her asymmetry and her keen eye for color. Simplicity is not in her vocabulary; her distinctive eclectic design using only using high quality elements,
handmade artisan lamp work glass beads makes her standout alone among the rest.
Her determination to push the limits has no boundary; she takes life as it comes to her straight on.
Her inspiration comes from within her soul, her surroundings, as well as what ever lies ahead of her in life.
She states that - Learning is a process, perfecting the technique can be a challenging; putting my own spin to the design, makes me justvonna, what you see is what you get!"

In 2007

I lost my son to dirty drugs & alcohol addiction, despite his ongoing effort to get away from them.
I shall have a hole in my soul that will remain open for the rest of my life.
My son's journey has ended, mine has just begun.
Reaching out with my written words through blogging on the internet, helping within the community, and reaching out to you, with the hopes that we will make a difference together.
Small steps, a way to honor my son and his fallen friends.
Knowledge is Power this disease of drug addiction and alcoholism sees no color, no gender, no age, no income bracket...
as it brings it's death to those we love.It is a simple matter perhaps, and it is in our back yard.

Let's work together to make this happen

.~We were not taught to grieve as we grieve.
I will not tell you how to grieve.
I will not tell you, be thankful your loved one lived as long as they did.
I will not tell you that your feelings are not real.
I will tell you it just takes time to grieve, sometimes it takes a long time, you are not alone.
